Adaptive Gymnastics is a gymnastics-based exercise class for youth with movement challenges. Students span 6-18 years old, are able to independently ambulate, and have a diverse array of gross motor and intellectual differences. Students are encouraged to participate in class independently, but parents are welcome to help. Classes will start with a warm up. The bulk of the class is observing, waiting in line for, and participating in obstacle courses. Class will end with a bit of free play. Skills include balancing, swinging on bars, jumping on a trampoline, spending time upside down, stretching, and climbing into and out of a foam pit.
