This unsung hero does so many things - hip flexion, abduction, external rotation, and knee flexion... in other words, it helps with hacky sack and a bunch of dance moves including retiré and the kid n’ play (featured). I’m pretty sure that the average person doesn’t know this muscle’s name. So keep it in your back pocket for when you want to impress someone
