Knee Ligaments
Can you name these ligaments?
Every athlete knows someone who has stretched, sprained, or torn a knee ligament.
Maintaining good leg strength is an important component of protecting these ligaments. But, it’s not just leg strength!
Leg alignment (if your thigh goes one way and your shin goes the other way, that doesn’t bode well for the ligaments.
Core strength (if you have a strong core, you’re less likely to put yourself in a position where you’re so knocked off your center that your leg gets twisted). And,
Gluteal strength (your glutes keep your knees from caving or twisting in).
