Vestibular Physical Therapy
Our Vestibular physical therapy program is for individuals with a new or chronic vestibular diagnosis who are looking for one-on-one care with a board-certified neurologic specialist to work on their movement goals.
-
Vestibular physical therapy may help people cope with the symptoms of conditions such as vertigo and labyrinthitis. This therapy involves treatments that help you manage dizziness and balance issues.
-
Whether you have a new or long-standing vestibular diagnosis, schedule a 55 minute Vestibular Physical Therapy Evaluation and Initial Treatment to determine your current baseline, allow movement analysis of your strengths and weaknesses, and start with exercises that will best address your individual needs.
-
This appointment will include a comprehensive vestibular assessment, including balance and gait evaluations, oculomotor and vestibulo-ocular reflex testing, and positional testing to assess dizziness and vertigo. Following the assessment, we will discuss your plan of care and initiate treatment. Treatments may include vestibular rehabilitation exercises, balance training, habituation techniques, and neuromuscular re-education to improve stability and reduce symptoms.
-
The number of visits will depend on the nature of your diagnosis, your specific functional mobility goals, the number of areas of concern, and your time/financial budget.
